Humor Can

Humor can hammer the serious nature
of anything down a few pegs.

Humor can defuse an emotional
time bomb.

Humor can help us look at the upside
down things of this world and keep us
right side up.

Humor can make the work day feel shorter,
The season more enjoyable and
the undoable, doable.

Humor can craft a smile, shore up a shaky
relationship and take the sting out of bad news.

Humor can.....so if  you want to share a
beautiful gift........Offer humor.

It's In Our Hands

Preparation for the unexpected can't happen,
however, today can be a good day.
It all depends on how you react to the events
of the day as they unfold..

 It's in our attitude
  It's in our choices
       It's in our perspective

Be in training everyday so when the
unexpected comes knocking, you can answer
armed with attitude that announces confidently,
"I am hope soaked, joy filled, and unafraid to
trample on the fear monster whatever form it takes."

Sword drawn, I will cut down the ugly to give
beauty room to stretch, grow deep roots and
establish an unextinguishable presence.

It's The Company Shared

Flowing words, glowing reviews
Christmas dinner, chaos usually ensues
Timing.......that's a big one
Preparation beginning before the
rising of the sun. Attention to detail
on every front...all that and the take
away is not place settings or
decorations motivated......
It's the company shared, the laughter
floating up, the memories made and
the memories remembered.......
family, friends, and a deed well done.
It's all that from the rising, long past,
 the setting of the sun.
It's with peace in our hearts that
we gather to celebrate God's best
gift, His offering to us to choose joy
and peace for eternity; the chance
to know, receive and worship His
 one and only Son.

Reignited With Hope

Here I sit waiting for the oil to be changed in the car on
this sunshine filled afternoon, the Monday before this year's national day of thanks.

The day set aside to collectively, consciously, concentrate on what in your life you can particularly, specifically feel grateful for.

I sit here feeling less grumpy, taking a breath and changing my mind one degree at a time. It has been one of those moments where, despite my best efforts, sadness had over shadowed my heart and hope for better things went out for coffee.

It is rather quietly astonishing how the tiniest things can serve to shake you free from the city limits of Grumpy Town!
Nothing is different, all the things that were bugging me, bumming me out, and stealing my smile remain unchanged.

As I drove down the road, the fall leaves that covered it were stirred up, flying, floating, drifting. That instant felt like Fall. That instant, my heart reignited with hope. I decided to grab hold of it with both hands. It is the eyes of hope that we must choose everyday to look through, to see beyond what the plain eye observes. Past the unchanged circumstance. Past logic. Past impossible. Because, it is beyond where all that the desires of your heart dwell. You could settle where you are, settle with what is around you. So could I, but why on earth settle when there is more for you? More for your life?

Today the leaves stirred my hope. Be on the look out for something to stir yours..................

                                        NEVER SETTLE

Titanic Proportions

Titanic, by definition, is "huge" or "of great strength" like the Titans, or containing titanium. When any person, even slightly familiar with the events attached to the ship bearing this name, it conjures up thoughts of utter disaster.

When you look up this day in history, you will find this quote:

"At 2:20 a.m. on April 15, 1912, the British ocean liner,
Titanic, sinks into the North Atlantic Ocean about 400 miles south of Newfoundland, Canada. The massive ship, which carried 2,200 passengers and crew, had struck an iceberg two and a half hours before."

The Titanic was divided into classes that by perusal of the statistics shows a disturbing disproportionate loss of life among the third class passengers.

In fact, most unsettling to me is the 52 children lost in third class to be compared with zero loss of children in the other two classes.

Stirring up all this sadness has a train of thought attached to it. That ship sinking was created more out of pride than circumstance. Lives lost, lives forever changed. The force of the pull, as the ship sank, drug many people in and down. They were no match for its strength. Sucked in ...gone in a terrifying instant.

The Titanic...its sinking and subsequent loss of life was based, completely rooted in a lie. Pride...it would never sink. Pride...don't need all those life boats.

What is your "titanic"?  What is the lie in your life that you have lived with so long you consider it truth? The lie has remained as it always has been, but you have become accustomed to its company. You see it differently, but a lie it still remains.

Dressed up...sweet, funny, charming, sexy....it takes you in and its whole existence is to take you down.

Unlike the unfortunate passengers of the Titanic, you can get up and walk away from the lie.  The disaster in your own life does not need to occur. You have a choice, you have an out. You have an option. If you choose life and freedom, all you need to do is see the lie for what it is and create a distance between you and it...not to be sucked in by it any longer. Any further.

There is life to be lived, if you want to live it. You can look at the other side, for everything has two sides. Some of the people that lost their lives that fateful day gave up their lives. Loved ones were not going to make it and they chose to sink, to die, not to go on. This is an option open to all of us. Believe the lie. Wrap yourself in it. Cling to it and reject all truth. Settle for less. Open yourself up to disaster. Reject all attempts of rescue.

You Can Be A Sucked in,
Sucked Down Sucker

But the Choice lays at your feet.
Time ticks...Wait too long
And as history shows......

All will be lost!!!

HOWEVER.................................

if you do create that distance...
do see truth......
and that it does hold
a bounty of promises waiting to be delivered.
Peace to be bestowed.                Joy to abound.
Relationships, yet unknown and untried to flourish.
Then that, my friend, will truly float your boat.
