The sun is warm and the breeze is cool.
The clouds are fluffy, white, and wispy.
The sky blue and clear.
The water ripples from the wind gliding atop its surface.
The happiness to be found in a day like today;
the possibilities are endless.
The dishes need done
The laundry folded
There is homework to be completed
The car needs its oil changed and a garage to be straightened
Four shirts with missing buttons waiting to be mended.
A sick friend that didn't ask, but nevertheless needs to be tended.
The report must be on his desk in the morning.
The presentation pitched, no excuses, delays, or time to be forlorning.
It isn't going to happen, though it calls to your heart to abandon responsibility,
head for the hills and soak up the rays.
Alas, it cannot be, for you see....today, though you cannot be in the sunshine, it does not mean the sunshine cannot be in you.
The tasks are at hand and the people depending on your presence await you....take the opportunity to be sunshine for them. A cheerful smile, a kind turn of phrase, a can do attitude; I am telling you from the bottom of my heart, this is your chance to make each one of their days.
