Titanic Proportions

Titanic, by definition, is "huge" or "of great strength" like the Titans, or containing titanium. When any person, even slightly familiar with the events attached to the ship bearing this name, it conjures up thoughts of utter disaster.

When you look up this day in history, you will find this quote:

"At 2:20 a.m. on April 15, 1912, the British ocean liner,
Titanic, sinks into the North Atlantic Ocean about 400 miles south of Newfoundland, Canada. The massive ship, which carried 2,200 passengers and crew, had struck an iceberg two and a half hours before."

The Titanic was divided into classes that by perusal of the statistics shows a disturbing disproportionate loss of life among the third class passengers.

In fact, most unsettling to me is the 52 children lost in third class to be compared with zero loss of children in the other two classes.

Stirring up all this sadness has a train of thought attached to it. That ship sinking was created more out of pride than circumstance. Lives lost, lives forever changed. The force of the pull, as the ship sank, drug many people in and down. They were no match for its strength. Sucked in ...gone in a terrifying instant.

The Titanic...its sinking and subsequent loss of life was based, completely rooted in a lie. Pride...it would never sink. Pride...don't need all those life boats.

What is your "titanic"?  What is the lie in your life that you have lived with so long you consider it truth? The lie has remained as it always has been, but you have become accustomed to its company. You see it differently, but a lie it still remains.

Dressed up...sweet, funny, charming, sexy....it takes you in and its whole existence is to take you down.

Unlike the unfortunate passengers of the Titanic, you can get up and walk away from the lie.  The disaster in your own life does not need to occur. You have a choice, you have an out. You have an option. If you choose life and freedom, all you need to do is see the lie for what it is and create a distance between you and it...not to be sucked in by it any longer. Any further.

There is life to be lived, if you want to live it. You can look at the other side, for everything has two sides. Some of the people that lost their lives that fateful day gave up their lives. Loved ones were not going to make it and they chose to sink, to die, not to go on. This is an option open to all of us. Believe the lie. Wrap yourself in it. Cling to it and reject all truth. Settle for less. Open yourself up to disaster. Reject all attempts of rescue.

You Can Be A Sucked in,
Sucked Down Sucker

But the Choice lays at your feet.
Time ticks...Wait too long
And as history shows......

All will be lost!!!

HOWEVER.................................

if you do create that distance...
do see truth......
and that it does hold
a bounty of promises waiting to be delivered.
Peace to be bestowed.                Joy to abound.
Relationships, yet unknown and untried to flourish.
Then that, my friend, will truly float your boat.
