Pure Choice

Chicken Bones, Rusty Trombones
And all things discarded
Not you......
You are God's chosen one
The apple of His eye
The very one for whom
He chose to die
Why, you ask
did He endure
 such a brutal task?
PURE LOVE!!!

From Twilight To Dawn

Sky dark
Dots of light
Moonless night
Breathtaking sight
Silence A-hush
No ramble, no rush
Listen...be heard
My thoughts and feelings
have been stirred
Understanding has come
I sit, I ponder, I speak
not  a word
From twilight to dawn
I consider... options open
Roads that are closed
The window that is raised
but just a fraction
When will be the time for action?
What is right..when will be our
 time to take flight?
The assignment has been given
How to fulfill it?
Ropes cut, hands free
The only path to travel
God's way.....
The one He made for me.

Leaving it undone

Leaving certain things undone have unremarkable consequences. Leaving the dinner dishes until morning is one. It may be a bummer to be greeted with yesterdays grime and toil, but no harm comes. Leaving the lawn to grow an extra day. Not a real biggie on the undone list. Grass simply doesn't grow that fast. Hair undone until the last drop of morning coffee trickles down your grateful throat. No one cares.

The price is exacted from leaving a conversation until later, the one that you ended up never being able to have. Or having a conversation you wished back the moment it happened and then the apology went unspoken. It comes, that heavy price in the form of promises you intended to keep, but they were left undone. The problem with the undone things...conversations...promises...and  projects of worth is, left undone, they undo you. Say the words, especially the hard ones without delay. Honor your promises even though it's inconvenient. Apologize, though it be humbling. Hug now. Kiss now. Cuddle now. Encourage now. Smile now. Love now. Laugh now. Expect the best now. Live now...don't leave it undone.

Patty Rose

An amazing woman left this earth yesterday. She traded up and went to heaven. Too soon if you ask those that love her, too soon for those right in the middle of life with her. No one was done yet and still she went.
Struggling for a satisfactory answer. None to be found. Face it, answers aren't wanted, Patty Rose is who everyone wants. Save the explanations and give her back to us. That is what the heart cries out for, only her. Her laughter, her smiles, her courage left a mark on the lives she touched. Forever changed, forever altered these lives she touched, leaving Jesus and His love in her wake.

The most shocking thing to me about death is that we live on. When someone dies that we cherish, they take their last breath and we take our next. The sun comes up and the stars continue to hang just where God placed them. School bells announce that class is in session and mailmen leave ads, bills, and assorted letters in our box. We eventually get hungry, sleepy, and stinky--(showers required)--phones continue to ring, trash is picked up and the floors need attention from the vacuum. We continue to breathe because our purpose is unfulfilled. We are still in process of purpose. We cry. We live on. We cry. We carry on. We cry. We remember. We cry. And then one day we smile because we remember. We take our next breath and the sun greets us with a fresh day. We hold tight to our Father that never left us alone and held us close and tender in our pain. We step out once again to meet the day, face the world and make a difference. We take our next breath, our next step and we are not alone. We live on.  How is it possible that we can do this? When you hurt so deeply? Of all the answers I do not have I know this; we live on and carry on because He lives. He lives in our hearts and He helps us step forward,
one heartbeat at a time.

Summer what to do?

Summer arrived last week. People are doing all those summer type activities; beach and sand, pool and BBQ, road trip and Mickey Mouse,
planting fresh plants in the flower beds and painting the house.
Summer classes and time for new glasses. Family reunions and scrapbook memories. Remembering all the names... one Jake, one Thomas, three Michaels, an unforgettable individual called James and believe it or not... four Henry's.

In the moonlight as you sway on the porch swing , stars twinkling above, being lulled into a sweet state of calm and reflection. You ponder.....you ponder all the usual, the expected occupations of summer and you wonder awhile about the breakout wild child things you might dare to consider.

Climb a mountain? Possible
Jump from a plane? Strongly rejected!!
Ride a camel or shoot a beautiful elephant on safari with your favorite camera? Definitely more possible.
Swim with dolphins in the ocean? Exciting
Swim with sharks? Lets not push it.
Swim without a bathing suit? Possible...Location..Location...Location.
Go fishing? Yes
Dance in the kitchen with your husband? Double Yes!
Have a backyard camp out with your kids? Yes! Yes! Yes!

Yourself

If you give up because someone else gave up, it shows a definite lack of imagination.

 Think for yourself.

Feel for yourself.

Do for yourself.

Be an individual.

A Gift To Share

We are bestowed the gift we cannot return in the measure it was given.
Unconditional love from our heavenly Father.
Something we receive, not earn.
The surprise is that we conduct our lives as if the only way to win our love is to earn it.
We make demands on the attitude, behavior, and affections of those we hold most dear. If the people around us don't measure up to our standard --ascend to our bar, we punish or sometimes discard said individual.
We are all guilty.
In a given moment each of us could be found
seriously wanting; yet most the time we operate under the illusion that for some mysterious reason, we ourselves, are the one flawless individual in a sea of flawed humanity.
Wake up people take an honest look in the mirror.
Shed that holier than thou attitude for a righteous one.
Take God's example to heart and make His stance yours.
