       These memories I hold in my heart, 
    to everyone of them attached I am

  Water Marks from Flower Pots

     Here and There Unidentified Spots

         Marks on the legs from puppy teeth, 
Nail marks from grown dogs after the left over cheese.

     It's these imprints and more that it holds 

            The knotted pine, the soft wood 
  It tells a story

         Hardwood endures, softwood remembers

  I run my finger tips across its surface tracing yesterday, today, and 
        dreaming of tomorrow, forever connected.
